Comedy is the genre streaming algorithms do the worst job with: they surface whatever is newest or loudest, and the genuinely funny stuff gets buried. These are the best comedies on Hulu that I’ve reviewed and still stand behind, led by No Other Choice, Poor Things, and Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Every pick links to my full review, and the list gets refreshed as titles come and go.
Critics and Audience scores from Rotten Tomatoes; ratings from IMDb. Scores as of October 2026.
NO OTHER CHOICE (2025)

No Other Choice is an expertly constructed social satire from Park Chan-wook that harkens to its South Korean compatriot Parasite. Come for the bloody thrills, stay for the pertinent message about humanity and their employment crisis circa 2025.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
POOR THINGS (2023)

With Poor Things, Yorgos Lanthimos continues to prove that he is Hollyweird’s maddest scientist and its most refreshingly singular voice. Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, and Mark Ruffalo offer a trifecta of the best performances of 2023 in this deeply funny, wickedly smart, and entirely brilliant reimagining of Frankenstein as a feminist declaration and character study. Yes, it’s alive, but it’s also pretty much perfect.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE (2022)

Everything Everywhere All At Once is a madcap, prismatic martial arts sci-fi family movie that refracts the entire scope of cinema and reality through the plight of a Chinese-American laundry mat owner. Quite simply one of the most original films ever made.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
SOUL (2020)

A remarkable achievement that lifts up and celebrates the human spirit, Soul ranks amongst Pixar’s best works and charters a life-affirming mission to the great beyond that’s sure to leave audiences peering deep within themselves.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
ANORA (2024)

Mikey Madison rules the screen as a Brooklyn stripper who falls for the wealthy son of a Russian oligarch and the fallout their entanglement entails in the truly alive Anora. As their story unfolds, writer-director Sean Baker puts the romantic-comedy through a fun house mirror, where the promises of love and wealth distort into vapor and illusions, unraveling as the well-drawn characters confront the tricks they’ve played on themselves.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
THE MENU (2022)

The Menu is a riotous dark satire that uses the upper-echelon of the food world to satirize class warfare. As if run through a Paco Jet, Ralph Fiennes delivers an icy tour-de-force as a mesmerizing, disturbed chef at the end of his rope. Full of twists and full-bellied laughs, consider The Menu a dish that should be consumed immediately.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
THE CHRISTOPHERS (2026)

Ian McKellen is phenomenal in The Christophers, and Michaela Coel more than holds her own, a film that manages to be both thematically rich and genuinely crowd-pleasing. What begins as a professional collision in the art world gradually turns into something more personal, more complicated. It’s one of Steven Soderbergh’s more restrained, human-scale efforts, and it’s all the better for it.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
IS THIS THING ON? (2025)

Will Arnett erupts onto the screen as a real dramatic actor in Bradley Cooper’s thoughtfully funny Is This Thing On?, a midlife crisis story that tackles themes of commitment and purpose with striking clarity. Laura Dern, unsurprisingly, remains a standout.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
SEND HELP (2026)

Come get some. Sam Raimi is (mostly) back in the horror business with Send Help, a campy desert island survival movie about a survivalist employee and her prick boss who get stranded together after a plane crash. Dylan O’Brien is a convincingly smug douche, while Rachel McAdams is electrifying as the dangerously capable femme fatale.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON’T DIE (2026)

Gore Verbinski’s Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is an over-the-top action-comedy with an impressive ensemble that taps into modern anxieties about screen time and A.I., delivering sharp satire and genuine laughs, even if its action beats struggle to match the film’s comic bite.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
RYE LANE (2023)

Rye Lane is a playful romantic comedy that celebrates the ups and downs of starting and ending relationships. Jonsson and Oparah’s natural chemistry and performances are the highlight of the film. Raine Allen-Miller’s vibrant South London rom-com is bursting with color and charm, and David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah have chemistry to spare.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
DUMB MONEY (2023)

Dumb Money has a lot going for it, including one of the more compelling ensemble casts of 2023, and Gillespie finds broad mainstream appeal in his approach, but it’s hard to say if his humorous stylings is the appropriate avenue for such an inflammatory subject.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
FRESH (2022)

Mimi Cave takes a stab at the minefield of modern dating with Fresh, a schlocky cannibal romance send-up cemented by strong turns from Sebastian Stan and Daisy Edgar-Jones. Daisy Edgar-Jones and a gleefully unhinged Sebastian Stan turn a modern-dating nightmare into a cannibal horror-comedy with real bite.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
GHOSTBUSTERS (2016)

Paul Feig’s hotly contested Ghostbusters is no cinematic scourge. In fact, it’s a rather delightful, if lightweight and basically substance-free -diversion: the epitome of true summer blockbuster fun. The all-female cast sparkles with wit and well-placed comic timing but none so much as Kate McKinnon, who has, in turn, thrown down a hell of a star-making turn.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
THE MONKEY (2025)

The Monkey is trashy, ridiculous, and entirely self-aware, exactly the kind of B-movie mayhem Oz Perkins seems eager to embrace. It may not possess the eerie stylings of ’ Longlegs’, but as a full-tilt descent into gory grindhouse absurdity, it beats to its own deranged drum.▶ Streaming on Hulu · Read the full review
